| Thoughts on India-Bangladesh | |
| So, India now have their backs to the wall. They came out flat, ran into a tenacious bunch of Bangladeshis and got embarassed. What went wrong? Did anything go right? What can be done to fix the problems. Below are my thoughts.....The only thing that went right was that we won the toss. Thats about it.Now lets talk about what specific things went w...

| Indian XI | |
| What should the Indian XI look like? What batting order should India go with? How many bowlers? How many spinners? Who opens? Im going to put down what I feel the XI should look like. After watching the 1st warm-up game - Yuvraj bowling well, decreases the importance of Sehwag's bowling option in my mind. We have Sachin and Saurav to share duties a...

| Observations - India's 1st warm up game | |
| Things I liked from today's warm-up game - We batted 1st.The pitch played well.Sehwag getting a start.Uthappa.Sachin and Rahul getting some quality time in the middle. They looked good, and played some big shots later in their innings.Indian spinners were strangling.Yuvraj having fun while bowling. He is back and 100%.Things I didnt like - Sehwag g...

| Sehwag - A Sitting Duck | |
| My first reaction to Sehwag's dismissal in the 3rd ODI against SL was that I've seen this happen so often the past yr or so. I noticed Prem Panicker disagreed and his view is that the ball hit a crack and jumped up, something which could get any batsman out. I really dont buy that, because - it is just so easy to set Sehwag up. Sitting in my living...

| Au revoir! |
| And the Chappell era of indian cricket comes to a close.Of all the coaches that indian cricket had till now, none captured headlines like Chappell. Probably because none before him had taken on the established inertia of the system and tried to bring changes. I admire the courage of Chappell. It was so much easier to let things be where the big st...

| F inally, done, isn't it? Got so much to write about, curses to be flushed, the horrible ICC that's murdered my sweet little game. But then, why bother, when Sambit Bal and Sir Richard Hadlee took the words outa my mouth and pasted them all over the internet?

| A moment before it's going to rain |

| After every day of hectic work, getting bored artificial beauties, I wait hoping for the sky to turn black. I reside in the south-east regions of the sub continent, wherein, the South-West monsoons too don't favour most of the areas. The monsoons start in May, at the tip of Kerala, dumping all of their moisture all along the west coast, and while t...

| While Ruchir maintains the daily updates, am working on migrating him, and other colleagues on this blog, to the new site. Will take a week, tops. In the meantime, Ruchir, Manish and others will be found here; I meanwhile have as of today begun posting, on cricket and all else, here .
